    “Men In Black III” 3D May 25th 2012 Another big ’90s blockbuster is headed back to the silver screen — Men in Black III will be released in 3D on May 25, 2012. Director Barry Sonnenfeld and Will Smith have both inked deals to return to the franchise, while “advanced negotiations” with Tommy Lee Jones look promising, Entertainment Weekly scooped just moments ago.“Sony’s summer of 2012 will get off to a red hot start with an incredible new 3D adventure for the Men in Black. We couldn’t be more excited that the original filmmaking team responsible for the first two worldwide hits is reuniting for this third installment. We love where the story is taking Agents Jay and Kay and know this new chapter will deliver a fresh fun twist for fans of the franchise while also introducing the Men in Black to a whole new generation of moviegoers,” Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing and Distribution Chairman Jeff Blake said in a statement.The first two Men In Black films, released in 1997 and 2002, took in more than $1 billion combined worldwide.It is the second time this week, an action franchise from yesteryear has been resurrected in hopes of netting box office gold in a new decade. On Thursday, Paramount Studios selected a Dec. 16, 2011 release date for the fourth installment of Tom Cruise Mission: Impossible.

    Hayden Christensen to Star in The Genesis Code



    Hayden Christensen will star in David R. Ellis’ upcoming thriller The Genesis Code, based on the novel by the same name written by John Case. The film’s screenplay is written by Kevin Bernhardt. Myriad Pictures, who will co-produce the film, will be selling the film at the upcoming Marche du Film in Cannes.

    The producers are Tove Christensen, Myriad’s CEO and President Kirk D’Amico, Michael Mailer and Alvaro Longoria.

    The story follows a former national security expert, played by Christensen, who, while investigating the murder of his only sister and her young son, discovers that a religious sect called The Shadow of the Cross may be involved. With the help of his sister’s friend Ana, they follow the clues to a clinic in the mountains of Italy, where a terrifying secret experiment has been conducted – successfully. The results are so threatening to the foundation of the Church that they will do anything to keep it from being revealed.

    “We are very pleased to have Hayden on board for this project,” said D’Amico. “His passion for the character of Joe Lassiter and the world he inhabits – of religion, politics and secret operatives – was apparent to all of us involved in the project. It is this kind of commitment that we know will lead to a compelling performance.”
